Lunch at Bison Bistro and Native American Heritage Mural Tour
Tuesday, November 20, 2018, 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM
Lectures, Tours, Seminars
What to bring: Please bring a valid photo ID, as all adult guests are required to sign in and proceed through security/bag screening in the Visitor Processing Center, accessed from the C Street lobby.
What to expect: We will depart from the Visitor Processing Center for the lower-level Bison Bistro at 1pm. If you arrive a bit late, just meet us there. We will return to the Visitor Processing Center just before 2pm, when our guide will meet us for our private tour, which will depart promptly and cannot be joined once started. The escorted walking tour lasts approximately one hour and focuses on the history of the building and the Department via a selection of more than 40 New Deal-era painted murals, plus photographic murals by Ansel Adams.
The tour will conclude in the Interior Museum, where we will also have an opportunity to view the museum's exhibition: "People, Land & Water." Photography is not permitted in the non-public areas of the building.
Should you wish to lunch on your own, or lack a nostalgia for Federal office building cafeterias, you may join our group only for the 2pm tour at the Visitors Processing Center.
Your non-member Guest is welcome with an RSVP (required).
There is no charge for the tour.
Venue is ADA compliant.
