About the Water Taxi

Let's try out the new Potomac Water Taxi from The Wharf to Alexandria, where we will enjoy lunch at the Chart House then shopping and exhibits at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. Waterfront Village Founding Member James Dean, former Curator of Art at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum and an artist working in the Torpedo Factory Art Center for more than 30 years, will welcome us to his studio and tell us something about the history of the art center and how he makes art in a former weapons factory!
Water taxi ticket prices for those 60+ are $16 round trip. Tickets will be purchased at the pier; credit/debit cards are accepted. You may also take a later return to The Wharf if you'd like to spend more time at the Art Center or stroll through Old Town Alexandria.
Your RSVP is only for lunch at the Chart House, no RSVP is required for the water taxi which returns to The Wharf at 2:25, 3:45, 6:25, 7:35, and 9:05pm. If you prefer to meet in Alexandria, a parking garage is available under the restaurant at 1 Cameron St, Alexandria, VA 22314, for $2.50 per hour. Uber from the Alexandria King Street Metro station is approximately $8 each way; from Southwest D.C. approximately $24 each way.

The Potomac Water Taxi, Chart House, and Torpedo Factory Art Center are fully ADA compliant.
This event is available to members of all D.C. senior villages. Members of Villages other than Waterfront please RSVP as Non-Member using the button to the right, or email your RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org indicating your home Village, or call us at 202-656-1834. When registering online, please indicate your home Village in the "Company" field.

Waterfront Village invites its fellow D.C. Villages to join us in trying out the new water taxi service connecting Washington to Alexandria. We will enjoy lunch at the Chart House then shopping and exhibitions at the Torpedo Factory Art Center, including a gallery tour by Waterfront Village's founding member and Torpedo Factory-featured artist James Dean.
