The Village website includes a tab called “Forums”. It is a place where members can post comments and react to posts from other Village members, sort of like our own Facebook site but with a few select topics. This session will provide an overview of the Forums tab and help you begin using the current forums or allow you to identify topic areas of interest to you.

PATIO LUNCHES will return next week with a special Election Day event. The lunches are designed to give members an opportunity to meet face-to-face in a reduced-risk environment. More information will follow in the coming days about menu and locations. Speaking of locations, we are looking for hosts who can accommodate 4-6 people AND ensure that there is six feet of separation (people in same household need not be separated unless they want to be). Last time, we tried to keep parties to just four participants at each location. Hosts will be asked to have seating for guests and clean outside furniture in advance. The Village will supply food, drinks and hand sanitizer. The lunch event will be held at 12:00 noon on election day, November 3. Please register in advance.

Have you ever wondered how a 30-foot-tall sculpture in a public park or street intersection, or a large- scale lightbox in the lobby of an office building got there? Jean Efron, Principal of Jean Efron Art Consultants, will discuss her firm’s work in selecting and placing artworks in both indoor and outdoor public spaces. She will show examples of artworks her firm has installed in these types of locations and others.

Prior to opening her firm, Jean was the Fine Arts Officer of the US General Services Administration. In the Fine Arts Office, she worked to commission works of art for new Federal buildings. Since opening her firm, Jean has commissioned and installed numerous artworks throughout the region on behalf of a wide range of public and private clients. Jean holds degrees in the History of Art and Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and the George Washington University. Proud that Mr. W.C. Handy played at her grandparents’ wedding, Jean is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, and is a long-time DC resident.

Registration Required.
