Committees
Waterfront Village Committees create an opportunity for members and staff to communicate and work directly together to create the optimum Village experience. Home Tour Committee: The Home Tour is held each autumn and is both a celebration of Southwest and the primary fundraiser for Waterfront Village. Volunteers are needed to assist on the day of the tour with check-in, hosting at home, and with soliticing sponsors.
Art Exhibition Committee: The Village Art Exhibition, Expressions of a Lifetime, is held each spring. This is a celebration of artists 60 and older who live in Navy Yard and Southwest DC. If you are an artist and would like to participate, please reach out and let us know.
Membership Committee: This committee's goal is to expand the membership of the Waterfront Village. Activities include identifying and working with faith-based ambassadors, managing outreach events, and strategizing around outreach and growth.
Volunteer and Member Services Committee: This committee of the Village works with staff to monitor, evaluate, and improve the experience of the members and volunteers.
Program Committee: The committee works with Village staff to develop and execute on program goals for the Waterfront Village
The Development Committee: This Board Committee works with the Executive Director to identify new funding sources, prepare grant applications, develop fundraising events, and consider long-term fundraising goals.
